A note from the founder
of
In Need of Prayer.com:
6/19/08 - "I just wanted to
comment about something that I saw on the news yesterday. At the
funeral for "Meet the Press" anchor Tim Russert, a version of 'Somewhere
over the Rainbow' was played and as mourners were leaving the church there
was a rainbow in the sky over Washington D.C. that could be seen as they
left. The photo that they showed on television was actually an image of a
double rainbow. One of the reasons that I started In Need of
Prayer.com is because I do not believe in 'coincidence'. I believe
that the LORD sees us and hears us and HE even cares about us enough to
show us that HE sees us and hears us and cares about us. I truly
believe that the rainbow that appeared in the sky as mourners were leaving
the funeral, after having just heard the song 'Somewhere Over the
Rainbow', was the LORD allowing Mr. Russert to send a signal to his
friends and family. The LORD does things like this. I have had many
similar experiences that were so perfectly timed and/or so amazing that it
can only be attributed to the LORD communicating with HIS people.
The LORD allows things like this to happen in an effort to communicate
with us.
So, as you go about your day, look for the signs that GOD may be sending
you in an effort to communicate with you. It may come in the form of
a cloud, it may come in the form of hearing something at "just the right
time". Whatever you see and whatever you hear, if you know that it
came from the LORD, pray on it, believe it, trust it and, most of all,
remember it.

Above is the photo that was seen over Washington, D.C. on
6/18/08
following Tim Russert's funeral. Of the photo, the photographer said:
"This is probably one of the most surreal experiences I
have ever had in my life. 10 minutes after the memorial at the Kennedy
Center ended and the acoustic version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" came
on as people were leaving, I heard people outside of my apartment in DC on
their balconies. I ran out to discover this full rainbow over the National
Cathedral! It had to have covered the entire city of DC. There is no doubt
in my mind that it was from Tim Russert himself. The weird thing is it
didn't rain all day and then it rained for about 3 minutes after the
memorial ended only to stop and create this beautiful scene. I want NBC to
share this with EVERYONE!"
